Description

The f/5 SkyWatcher 150mm Newtonian is a fairly "fast" system that, without correction, produces noticeable coma in images, particularly those obtained with a large digital imaging sensor. The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III mirrorless camera has an imaging sensor measuring 17.3mm x 13.0mm which is fairly large. Even so I can achieve sharp rounded stars across the entire frame by using a Baader 2" MPCC (coma corrector). A Kipon T2 - micro 4/3 T-adapter measuring 35mm in length exactly provides the required distance between the corrector and the camera to produce the overall separation of 55mm +/- 1mm between the corrector and the imaging sensor as specified by Baader. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so they say. This image provides that proof by displaying crops fron the centre and the four corners of an image of Omega Centauri.
