Description

Van McComas recently suggested that we post images of the moon over the next few days in celebration of the Apollo 11 landing (https://www.astrobin.com/forum/c/off-topic/anything-goes/a-celebration-of-mankind-in-space/).

I am getting ready for a vacation and mother nature is not cooperating tonight or the next few days so I thought I would post a few very old images. The moon is actually what got me on the recent astrophotography kick back in ~ 2010. I saw the moon high above our house and took a picture with my cellphone, it looked awful but my wife said it looked good for a cellphone and said I would need a DSLR to to better - that was it, I got permission to get a camera!

Anyway:

Image A is from 10-6-2014 and is the first image of the moon I took through a telescope. It was a webcam connected to my 8-in Newtonian reflector.

Image B is from 2016 and was taken with my Canon T3i/600D connected to my ED 80 refractor.

Image C, also from 2016, shows the ISS crossing the lunar surface and was taken with my Canon T3i/600D connected to my ED 80 refractor.
