Description

After a long long 7 weeks the first 4 hours of clear skies. This summer is for Astro Photographers in Florida a nightmare. Especially if a new camera and some work on the mount is waiting to be done. The camera turned out to be ok, I would not say fantastic since I noticed a shift of the red channel to the other 2. Not sure if this is a camera artifact or the scope. I used my "old" Explore Scientific with the 2x Barlow for M57 since it is just too small for the Rasa. And I always wanted to take a closer look at it 😊! The mount is still not perfectly put together, I still experience jumps in the guiding, but as far as I could tell the RA axis was good. Now I have to work a bit more on the Dec axis, which started this whole dilemma. With that I needed to throw away quite a few images (every time the guiding jumped), leaving me with a bit more than 2 hours of integration time. I am still happy that I got at least this time together, wow ... this bad summer weather does not seem to end!
