NGC7793 is one of the brightest members of the Sculptor Galaxy Group, about 12 million light-years distant.  It was first observed by James Dunlop from the Parramatta Observatory in 1826.   It displays fluffy, wool like diffuse spiral arms characteristic of flocculent galaxies, and has no bar and only a faint central bulge.
