Description

Saturn's opposition occurs when the Earth is in the position between the Sun and Lord of the Rings. This is the best time to observe and photograph this jewel in the solar system as it has its face fully illuminated by the sunlight, leaving its rings even more brilliant. This is what we call the Seeliger effect and can be seen in the photo taken at the Zenith Observatory, Monte Carmelo MG on the night of July 20, 2020.

Equipment: Celestron SCT C8 in F17, 7mm orthoscopic eyepiece in positive projection and the ASI290mc camera with cut UV-IR filter.
