11.8 Days old Moon in Leo

Acquisition type: Lucky imaging

A quick gear roll out as clouds disappeared all to the sudden. Fair air transparency and turbulence, but strong wind which ruined most images. Libration and lunar distance were not exciting. Nevertheless, I wanted to let the 2.5x Powermate work after a long hibernation. What more can a barlow wish for on Labor Day?

Rev G: A direct comparison between images taken at native focal length and with the Powermate is inconclusive, as there is no tangible gain in detail. Anybody wanna have a 2.5x Powermate? Actually, at longer focal length the image is way more prone to wind shaking and poor tracking while requiring longer exposure time and/or more gain in that the enlarged native image can result in superior quality.Both images are 1.5x drizzled. The image through the Powermate looks slightly better resolved without drizzling. Too bad, I like 16:9 pictures larger than HD. That's why I usually drizzle.

At session end the Moon exited the constellation of Leo and entered Virgo while I was gone by the wind.
