Description

It was a very windy night with significant gusts. I tried to image one of my favourite clusters, NGC 5053, but the wind was so bad that I chose 30s exposures, in the hope of getting some data in between the gusts, but alas, 30s, unsurprisingly, was not enough to image it, because the cluster requires longer exposure. I also had my eyes on NGC 3718 for later in the evening, and remarkably as I neared 10.30 at night, the wind dropped, and whilst I had to throw away many subs, I just about managed to hold onto these - although a fair percentage of them I would have thrown away, had I have had the luxury of doing so. In total, this was 142 subs at 2 minutes long each, totalling an imaging period of 4 hours and 44 minutes - all the fours! It must mean something! Thanks everyone - here is hoping tonight remains clear as it has been bad again for a few days now...
