Description

We often see the Witches Broom, Pickering's Triangle and the Eastern Veil framed individually or the entire Veil loop.  But there are other partss of the Veil complex that I thought might make and interesting composition.  Here is one that lies below the Western Veil and due north of the Triangle.  I've included an inset to help with orientation.

To help separate structures I shot S, H, and O rather than the more common HOO.  But what to do with the SII?  I settled on H for red, and O for blue but then a mix of 45% S + 45% O +10% H.  This allows the areas where SII is strongest to appear a Yellowish Orange while keeping the Ha dominant areas Red and the OIII areas on the blue side of teal.

I created a synthetic luminance of 40% H, 40% O, and 20% S.  My thinking was that this would ensure the SII was represented but rely 80% of the mix on the better SNRs of the OIII and Ha.  As I type this I think that was a waste of time because the Luminance inherent in the Color mix I chose would have been about 15% from SII anyway!  Oh well...
