Description

SH2-106 is a bipolar emission nebula. A newly-formed star at its center has generated the form of this HII-region with its star wind, so it is not a planetary nebula despite its form and comparatively strong O-III emissions. This is often presented in the "snow angle" form of the famous Hubble image - but that leads to a suppression of the outlying parts of the nebula which I have enhanced here. The full FOV is presented in the mouseover - this is a rather small target.
