Description

Cloudy weather is a great time catch up on processing images, and here's one I took from my observatory of "Bode's Galaxy." The image consists of a stack of 30-second exposures, taken over a period of two hours with my C-14 telescope near midnight on the evening of April 20th. Bode's Galaxy, also known as M81 or NGC 3031, is a prominent spiral galaxy located in the constellation Ursa Major. Found 12 million light years from Earth, the galaxy is characterized by its beautiful spiral structure, consisting of well-defined arms filled with stars, gas, and dust.
