Description

During the summer months, I saw several really impressive version of this SNR. I decided to give it a try with the wider FOV with Askar at 280 with the reducer. The O3 data was okay, but I really wanted more signal. I then spent a full night with the RASA8 on the O3. I blended the two O3 layers with modest success. I had hoped for a little more detail with the amount of integration time, but still a fun project to complete. The mouse over shows the starless image where the shell is more prominenant. 

The Cygnus Shell is a SNR located 5,000 light year from Earth. and measures  150 lighter years across. The faint O3 nebulosity dance with the complex filamented hydrogen background structure from our perspective.
