Description

After shooting M42 the day after Christmas 2022, I targeted SH2-190. I lost a whole night because the guiding did not settle in. The reason was found after several hours: the guide cam was rotated by 180 degrees... After this was fixed, guiding worked for 5 minutes when finally clouds ended the session.

The next day had good wheater again, so I shot 60x 120s @ ISO100.
Still, too noob to create flat, dark, or bias frames.
PE was most of the time below 1" (seldom peaks of 3-4" - most likely caused by wind).

Two days later, I decided to compare the results with a STC Astro Duo-Narrowband Clip-In filter (for Nikon APS-C), so I shot 85x 180s (with quite some clouds after 1/3 of the session).
Again no flat, dark, or bias frames.

I post-processed both sessions independently and combined.
The picture here is the result of the combined image.
To combine, I just moved all lights into the corresponding directory and let Siril do its align an stack magic.

The resulting image from the first session shows a faint heart nebula (not much data, but lots of noise).
The resulting image from the second session (using the duo-narrowband filter) tends to look very artificial when stretching (too much saturation and too much nebula).
The combined image is not benefiting much from both sessions, but still a clear improvement.
