Description

When cooking, some people don't like to waste and use everything (I do). That's the same for imaging time in asttrophoto !

A few weeks ago, I was imaging the Cassiopeia region (ie. from Navi to Schedar), but around 4h in the morning, the constellation was hiding behind the roof of the house. I took the opportunity of the time left before the sun rise to image an object 2 hours higher in the sky : the California Nebula.

With the required time to aim this target (Skyguider Pro... no GoTo :-), I could grab 42 minutes worth of exposures over 2 nights.

NGC1499 is distant of around 1000 to 1500 ly, and 70x17 ly long and wide. More or less.
