Description

It's the Sunflower Galaxy, or M63. It's about 25 million light-years away and stretches 100,000 light-years across, about the same size as our Milky Way Galaxy. It is in the constellation Canes Venatici, a small northern constellation that was created by Johannes Hevelius in the 17th century. Its name is Latin for 'hunting dogs', and the constellation is often depicted in illustrations as representing the dogs of Boötes the Herdsman, a neighboring constellation.My first real LRGB image at a Bortle 1 site,  in northern Arizona.LRGB 9hr 45m integration, with 10hrs of Ha added in
