Description

Centaurus is a galaxy hunters paradise! While the 127is on the MYT with my venerable QSI690 CCD worked quietly on the previous NGC 4650 field, the Red Cat 71 on the AM5 with the CMOS ZWO2600MM Pro controlled by ASI Air went after the wider field. ASI Air is no where near as flexible as Sequence Generator BUT it is a dream to setup and it gets the job done with very little fuss ,which is handy as running two scopes might lead to further hair loss.

This field contains 14 NGC objects, including NGC 4650 centered and the rather amazing NGC 4650 A above. It also contains 394 PGC Galaxies (!) and that deserves a bit more exposure time but Astrobin's solver is really choking on that one!

But, for the happy coincidence of a new moon and a two nights of clear sky (bracketed by weeks of cloud and some record breaking rain ), I am very grateful.
