Description

M92 is a well known globular cluster about 26700 light years from us. Its apparent size is about 14'. Good news for those who have a small focal length: it is approaching us at 112km/s. So just wait a couple of million years and it will better fit with your framing. Alternatively you might invest in a longer focal length. I took the second option. This has been the first light of my 115/800 refractor.
For these targets, tools like StarXT or BlurXT are not of great help. I sacrificed the shape of the big stars in favour of the cluster bulb. Hope you can accept this. Sub exposure time was kept short to 30s in order to preserve the core. Still 1h30 of total exposure time is too short even for this bright subject at f/7. Colours were balanced by photometric method in PI. Slightly saturated. Hope you like it even if it is not a perfect picture.
The full version is interesting for the small objects in the background. I was intrigued by the tiny galaxy cluster in the North of the cluster. Could not find any name for it. Would be grateful for any tip.
