Description

After many cloudy night.....

M106 Is an active intermediate spiral galaxy located about 25 million light years from Earth, and located within the constellation Canis Venatici  (hunting dogs). It contains an active nucleus, a compact region at the center, with higher than normal luminosity. This luminosity has properties indicating that it is not emited by stars. Rather, this non stellar radiation is believed to result from the accumulation of matter by a supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy. A type II supernova,  the rapid collapse and violent explosion of a massive star, was observed in M106 in May 2014 (reference: Wikipedia).
