Description

M71 globular cluster lays only a few degrees below the galactic equator.
This means that it suffers from a strong reddening from the interstellar dust on the Milky Way plane.

The reddening is very evident in this image, color-calibrated using the Average Spiral Galaxy white reference.

Using a common, fixed white reference allows you to comare colors between different objects in a consistent way.
