Finally realizing a dream...

Revision title: Phase 7c - Fold down wall installed

Description

I began my introduction to astronomy in 1972 at age 10 during a family reunion trip where two of my aunts (Melma and Joyce) introduced me to their telescope and my first ip close views of the moon.  I came home from that trip motivated to acquire a teleccope of my own which I did soon after and the quest for a personal observatory had begun!

Almost 5 decades later,  after hauling equipment in and out for every observing and imaging session during those many years, I final find myself on the cusp of realizing the dream of permanent/dedicated place under the stars from which to reach out and take in the wonders of the universe around us.

I'll be using the image to post updates as construction unfolds in the coming months and am happy to share any learnings along the way if anyone has a question they would like to pose.

Title: Phase 7c - Fold down wall installed

Description: Just completed installing the south facing fold down wall on Sunday 2/25/24. Decided to add to 8' translucent insulated panels to allow diffuse light in during daytime hours for when working in the observatory with the roof on and to reduce some of the weigh of the wall given it's just over 20 feet in length!

Up next is door installations....then it's down to trim/siding and finishing work! :-)
