Description

I decided to see if my trusty EdgeHD 8 might be capable of imaging NGC 6804 after seeing Rick Veregin's recent image. This is a small planetary nebula in the constellation Aquila. The size of the nebula is about 1.1 x 0.8 arcminutes and the brightness of the central star is 14.4 mag.

I knew the small size of this target would push the capabilities of my scope so I imaged at f/10 and incorporated very aggressive dithering during acquisition. My view of this target is limited so the amount of time dedicated is shorter than I would have liked. I pushed the drizzle integration with APP to the max using a droplet size of 0.8 and a 3X upscale. Afterwards, I just used my normal HOO workflow within Pixinsight. Oh well, this one is done and I'm moving onto an even nuttier target of M 2-55.

Description: Playing around with more old data as I continue trying to master GHS. The revised processing did not improve detail a lot since the target is so small but it did allow a boost of the Oiii signal allowing more vibrance with the colors.

Description: Revisited processing with BXT AI4. The previous version went overboard with star reduction - even to the point of critical stars entirely missing. This version incorporates the full starfield.
