Description

In this picture, two different objects have to be highlighted. In the left part, we can  find Barnard 150, also known as Seahorse Nebula. B150 is a dark nebula located in the Cepheus constellation and lies at about 1200 Light Years away. This dust cloud is so thick that it is hiding the stars behind it. The second object, in the righ part of this image corresponds to the Firework Galaxy (NGC 6946), Its distance from Earth is about 25.2 million light years. The nickname Fireworks Galaxy given to NGC 6946 is due to the "huge" number of supernovas detected. Indeed, ten having been recorded there to date, since 1917.
