Description: M81 is also known as Bode's Galaxy and is consider a grand design spiral galaxy meaning it has well defined spiral arms. M82 also known as the Cigar Galaxy is a starburst galaxy that has a core one hundred times more luminous than the Milky Way's core. The starburst activity is thought to be due to gravitational interaction with M81. NGC3077 is a small disrupted elliptical galaxy also being acted upon by M81's gravitational forces.

Captured from my remote observatory in Taxahaw, SC and made up of 240 sec exposures using Red, Green and Blue filters and 600 second exposures using a narrowband Hydrogen Alpha filter. for a total of 18 hours of total integration time.

Equipment:
Explore Scientific 127mm APO Triplet refractor
ZWO ASI1600mm Pro monochrome camera
