Description

It's not much known that there is a second supernova remnant in Cygnus, located in the southern part stretching up to Lyra. Here we see the most bright eastern filament, near Phi Cygni which is the brightest star in the image. It is at double the distance as the Veil nebula, and much older and bigger. The brighness is so weak, it was hardly to detect on the LRGB frames, only with narrowband it was possible to show it's delicate structure. An attempt to drive CCD imagery to its limits on my not-so-dark site near Vienna/Austria.
