Description

This is my first and so far only mosaic.  I used 65 Lights per panel taken on Oct 25 and 26, 2021.  The Cygnus Loop is a large supernova remnant and is quite large.  It is 6 times wider than the moon.  The supernova happened 20,000 years ago.  Several components have separate names including the "Western Veil", "Witch's Broom", the "Eastern Veil", and “Pickering's Triangle”. As an example of the problems determining astronomical distances, over the last 60 years it has been estimated to be 2,500, then 1,460, then 1,760 and now 2,400 light-years distant.
