Description

It is a typical lunar chain, composed of distinct massifs whose average altitude in relation to the basin of the rainy sea (Mare Imbrium) is between 1800 and 2400 m.
Its highest peak, Mont Blanc, rises to 3600 m.As the famous Crater Plato begins to emerge from the lunar night, the Alps offer a superb spectacle at sunrise (in the First Quarter), very tapered shadows giving it the appearance of a forest of steep peaks.
Perpendicular to the Alps, the famous Vallis Alpes stretches for 180 km covered in its center by a very narrow sinuous groove.

With a relatively large focal length, it took 5 panels and a few hours of processing to make this image.
