Description

I wanted to present this target in a new way.  There is so much complex nebulosity in all three narrowband channels and while O3 is weaker than Ha and S2, it's still quite strong.  Of course, the envelope of O3 that engulfs the Crescent is a prominent feature in this field.  Because there is so much detail in all three channels, I didnt want this to get lost when blended together to make a color image.   I wanted to showcase these features so I chose a dynamic blending method which gave more strength to areas int he image where O3 was more dominant. This allowed the O3 to overpower the stronger Ha signal within features like the crescent nebula and overall gave the image more depth as you move from a dominant Ha region into more O3.   

I blended the stars differently, using a hubble blend to make the stars appear more gold and blue like we are used to seeing in RGB images.  Not quite a replacement for RGB stars, but a nice trick to avoid the strange colors you get in stars with interesting channel blending techniques. 

This is a 2 panel mosaic capture with the 110GTX+QHY600+Mach2.   Data was collected across  nights during and following the full moon.
