Description

Messier 35 is a large open star cluster in Gemini. It is 110 million-years old, this might seem very old, but it is relatively young in astronomical terms. NGC2158 also shown in the photo  is believed to be about 2 billion years old. They seem related, but they are not, they are 14,700 lightyears distant. This is such a beautiful combination. A starry and colorful winter sky. I photographed this targets on marginal seeing and windy conditions on 2 consecutive nights. I was able to integrate 5.3 hours despite the adverse conditions.
