Description

Jupiter under excellent seeing featuring the Great Red Spot in all its glory. Intricate detail can be seen in this image, particularly in the NPR and GRS, with Oval BA also well placed.

This is a collaboration image captured on the 9th-10th September from @Lyaphine's home town in Germany using her new 20" f/3.3 Dob. Having flown out to Germany myself for just a few nights, we were incredibly lucky with the conditions - especially since this was first light for the scope! A long day of assembly and collimation paying off beautifully.

The initial plan was to use the imaging train used on my 16" SW Dob - namely the Celestron X-Cel 3x, ADC & Uranus-C, but after focus issues, we opted for a (very) oversampled 5x Powermate, ADC & Uranus-C. Thanks to the conditions though, this wasn't too much of an issue after all

8 x 75-sec captures derotated.
