The Ghost is clear.......aka the challenge that involved taming the star halo on Navi (gamma Cassiopeia). Prior to starting this image, I fully knew it would be a challenge and it was indeed. The process used more layering mask in photo shop than I utilized the rest of the year combined. I also had been trialing the L3 astronomik filter with the RASA, but having issues with donuts and four bright spots in the small to medium stars after correction. After trialing for a few images, I plan to return to the L-2 version and place the L-3 in my askar 400 efw. Definitely not a fantastic result at full resolution. These effects can be seen better in the cropped version B.

In the end, I successfully captured a challenging object with the RASA.

IC 59 and 63 are bright reflection nebula 600 light years from Earth and are located 3 light years from Navi (central star in the W of Cassiopeia). These two objects are being irritated by Navi with surrounding hydrogen emission nebula as well as bright more centralized white reflection components.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
