Description

Roughly 5000 light years from Earth, the nebula, also known as SH2-248, is a supernova remnant in the constellation Gemini. The Jellyfish nebula is a pretty large DSO, with angular diameter about 50 arcmin (by comparison, the full Moon is 30 arcmin across). The most challenging part of imaging the nebula is perhaps capturing its extremely faint ionized oxygen signal near the top of its shell. Optical artifacts are visible near the Eta Geminorum (the bright star at the bottom of the image). The artifacts seems pretty common in narrowband images taken by the ASI294MM Pro camera (e.g. here are a few examples)
