Description

Pixinsight Process:
Image Integration: Integrate flats and dark frames.
Image Calibration: Calibrate the flats and darks into the light frames.
Star Alignment: Align light frames in LRGB to a single frame.
Blink: Allows to pick out the bad frames with lights from cars, planes, or just plain old nasty haze.
ImageIntegration: Integrate LRGB images
Dynamic Crop[b]:[/b] Crop all images to take stacking artifacts out.
NoiseXTerminator: Use NoiseXTerminator to reduce noise of the image
EZ Soft Stretch: Run basic settings on EZ Soft Stretch
Channel Combination: Combine RGB files
Color Calibration: Calibrate RGB data
SCNR: SCNR Green, takes out the green noise.
Curves Transformation: Normal S curve to boost contrast
Convolution: Convolution helps reduce noise when combining the luminance data into the RGB files.
LRGB Combination: Apply luminance stack to RGB data with chrominance noise reduction checked.
Color Saturation: Applying luminance takes some of the saturation away, so I always add more saturation afterwards.
ColorSaturation: Stretch the blues and cyans to bring the nebula color out more.

Title: The Cocoon Nebula

Description: I realized that the red in the original is not Ha signal, but rather a gradient in my green data, so I had to run some DBE to remove that gradient, and that fixed the redness of the image.
