Description

A stunning grouping of three galaxies (M65, M66, and NGC 3628) found in the constellation of Leo. Called the "Leo Triplet," these galaxies are more than 30 million light year away. All three are spiral galaxies with the two on the right oriented face-on to the Earth. Gaseous lanes of dust can be observed in each, with areas of reddish emission nebulas present as well. The galaxy on the far left (NGC 3628) is often called the hamburger galaxy for obvious reasons. The image was taken on the morning of January 10th though my RASA 8 telescope with ASI294 camera.
