Description

A unbelievable as it seemed, the skies stayed clear during a few moonless nights here in rural Victoria. After imaging Orion during the last session, I decided to choose a more southern target this time. The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is high up in the southern sky during the Australian summer. Here under Bortle 2 skies it is very distinct and its barred spiral structure can be seen with the naked eye.
