Description

M45, also known as the Pleiades or Seven Sisters, is an open star cluster in the constellation Taurus. It is one of the most easily recognizable star clusters in the sky and has been known since ancient times. The Pleiades consists of several hundred stars, but only a handful are visible to the naked eye. The cluster is located about 444 light-years away from Earth and is estimated to be about 100 million years old. It is also one of the closest star clusters to Earth, making it a popular target for both amateur and professional astronomers.
