Description

Here is the (almost) fullmoon of October.
We can see all the geological formations with craters, seas, mountains...
In this photo, we notice colors in some places: these are the chemical compounds of the rocks. Sometimes gray, sometimes orange, sometimes bluish. These colors are highlighted by a treatment process where their saturation is increased to +/- 80% which makes them easily observable.
The color processing is correct, which means the colors and their arrangements conform to maps of Moon geology, with a few exceptions in some place if scientists see the picture (lack of color at some place, I need maybe more pics to reveal all the areas ?)

On the technical side, it's a very dense image: more than 12,000 shots were needed, gathered in 18 video acquisitions at 50 images per second, to reduce atmospheric turbulence as much as possible. There was 185GB of data to process ...Then all the 18 pieces were put together into one big image of over 6000px sideways.
Taken with a Maksutov 127/1500 telescope and an ASI462 camera +IR-Cut filter
Capture under Firecapture, processed with Astrosurface, AutoPanoGiga, Photoshop CC
