Description

NGC 5906, also known as the Splinter Galaxy or the Knife Edge Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy located approximately 50 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation Draco. The galactic nucleus of NGC 5906 is relatively small and compact, surrounded by a bulge of older stars. The nucleus houses a supermassive black hole, as is the case with many other galaxies. This black hole is thought to have a mass several million times that of our Sun and plays a significant role in shaping the galaxy's dynamics.
