Description

This time the seeing was good (at least for my little MAK) and I was able to get a quite decent image.

WinJupos wasn't of much help on this subject, but I think that, according to a Mars Globe app I found for IOS, that white circular spot on the top right of the martian disk should be the Olympus Mons, what to 19th century astronomers was the albedo feature "Nix Olympica", that is "Olympic Snow", and it really looks as snowy as the South Pole.

I also surmised that a dark grey albedo feature almost in the center of the disk and above the South Pole could be the crater Newton, but that's perhaps too much to expect from my little MAK.
