Description

Here are comparison images for the various filters I used to image crater Langrenus and the combinations I used to integrate them.

Clearly the IR 642nm BP image is of the highest quality with the Red image not far behind. Green is less good and Blue is the worst. The RGB combination provides the beautiful subtle colours of the lunar landscape, however, the inclusion of the IR image as Luminance with a 66% blend, gives added definition and delivers the best image in terms of the overall clarity, definition and aesthetics, in my view.

As a follow up to my previous trials, this supports the view that when the seeing is not as good, the IR images, which are less affected by the atmosphere will return the highest image clarity. Their inclusion as Luminance addition to the RGB image to give an LRGB image is clearly advantageous.
