Description

Here are the Flaming Star and Tadpole Nebulae through my 70mm quadruplet in HSO coloring. Although appearing side by side, the Flaming Star nebula is almost 10 times closer to earth at only ~1500 light years whereas the Tadpole Nebula sits around 10,000-15,000 light years away. Both are areas of dense and active star formation. I had a lot of fun both capturing and processing this image and it was one of my first using all three (Ha, Oiii, and Sii channels / filters).

Specs:

25x600" Ha, 19x600" Sii, 24×600" Oiii. Unity gain cooled to 5 degrees.
