Description

Having a clear night for the first time since beginning of 2023 and now that this comet is visible from the Southern Hemisphere, was able to pick up 15 subs.   As we get into February, the comet will rise in degrees in our skies and so hopefully after the next cyclone, due this Sunday, clears I will have another chance.  Definitely need moonless skies and more subs to pick up more of the tail.

Pretty happy to have been contacted by NZ 1News reporter asking to feature this image in tonight's Television report about the Comet. (11 Feb 2023)

Title: Reprocessed by removing Stars with Starnet2 from the Comet Aligned Subs

Description: First version used CometAlignment process to create comet aligned subs, stack all comet aligned with Image Integration and then subtract the Integration file in the second CometAlignment process to get only Star subs (ie. less the comet). In this version, I did not do the 2nd Comet Alignment process but rather removed stars from each individual 'comet aligned sub' using Starnet2. Afterwards, stacked all 'starless comet subs' and processed & then used StarXterminator to extract a Starfield from the initial full star aligned subs including both stars and comets. Combined the two in Pixelmath.
