Description

Being one of the first targets I ever imaged, The Pleiades holds a special place in my heart. Having upgraded my equipment since first shooting it and learning a lot about the different capturing and processing techniques, I thought I'd try again at this beautiful beginner target.

The data was captured over the course of 3 nights. Gathering the data proved to be quite challenging since I live in a Bortle 7 zone and M 45 only reaches a maximum of 34 degrees above the horizon. Nevertheless, I captured enough data to put together an image I'm happy with.

I'm still trying to figure out a good way to reduce star bloat and process the brighter stars in an image. I could've also used some more luminance data to really eke out some of the finer details in the dust lanes, but overall I'm happy with how this image turned out, especially looking back on how far I've come since my first attempt at The Pleiades.

As always, any constructive criticism is warmly welcomed. I hope you enjoy
