Description

Definitely one to look at the full page and full resolution detail. I am excited with pixel size at 7140x 5052 to print this on a large metal print.

When I decided to pull the trigger on the ASI 294 MM earlier this year, I was most excited to use it for my luminance layer at the unlock bin 1x1 at 2.3 um with my RASA 8. This set up give me ideal sample which adds a great amount of detail to my 2020 projects. It also allows to upscale my COLOR or SHO data to an almost 2x drizzle without going through the labor of drizzling. The process is identical when I use my larger 9.25 edge SCT with color data bin 2x2 and luminance at 1x1 with my ASI 1600 MM and ASi 294 MC.

The small pixel of the 294 MM is just such an improvement like having 2 cameras in 1. Also, wild to shoot 4 min lum data with the RASA 8 at F2.

I couldn't wait  to add the luminance affect to my favorite shot of the Rosette from last year. While only adding 35 frames from last nights luminance was a first attempt, the detail improvement is a amazing.  I plan to really go deep with the luminance layer in the future with the hope of 80 to 100  four min subs.

The Rosette nebula is a stunning diffuse hydrogen cloud surrounding a open cluster of stars in the middle of the frame that formed from condensing of the hydrogen cloud.

Locate in the constellation of Monoceros, the nebula is about 5,000 light years from earth and measures approximately 130 light years in diameter.

This was my first attempt to complete a narrowband project with the RASA 8. I used my 1.25 astronomik filters S2, Ha, O3 that surprisingly had very little vignetting.
