Description

M106 and many other galaxies, including spirals NGC4232 and NGC 4226, edge on NGC4217 and others that are hundreds of millions of light years distant.  M106 is a spectacular spiral about 24ly distant that has a supermassive black hole at its center.  NGC4217, the edge on spiral on the bottom right corner is about 60M ly distant.  This image of M106 and its environs was taken with the Planewave CDK14 on an L350 mount with an ASI6200MM camera.
