Description

M57 was the first DSO which I imaged when I acquired my ZWO ASI224MC back in Y2019 and attached it to my Celestron NexStar Evolution 6 scope (C6 on Alt-Az mount). I was hooked and astound by this intriguing ring.

Now when I got my C9 - M57 became one of my targets again. This time I managed to capture the first outer halo/shockwave and the second one is barely visible.

Processing wasn't easy. I used MaskedStretch for the first time and together with HDRMT I think I got it.

Colors turned out interesting and I decided to keep this version. I used SCC for their calibration.

IC1296 is visible as well.

M57 is 1.4x1.1 archmin in size and IC1296 is 1.0 x 0.5 archmin. I love the C9 as it allows me to capture small targets as well.

CS,
Ivan
