Description

NGC 6188, commonly referred to as the 'Fighting Dragons' because of their passing resemblance to the shape of two dragons in combat, is an emission nebula located about 4,000 light years away in the constellationAra. The bright open clusterNGC 6193, visible to the naked eye, is responsible for a region of reflection nebulosity within NGC 6188. Also visible, in the bottom right of the image, is the blue OIII rich filamentary outer halo of NGC 6164, known as the 'Dragon's Egg'.

Data acquired by iTelescope using Telescope T10 located at Siding Spring Observatory, Australia.
