Description

This is my ongoing version of M-78. So far I have collected 16x20minutes of luminance and 8x15m frames of each RGB bin 1x1. I also have included 5x30m of O3 (mixed to the 30%*green and 50%*blue channels) and 5x30m of Ha mixed to the luminance and red channels (40%*Ha+L and 30%Ha*Red).

The narrow band data have been wonderfully captured and kindly supplied by my dear friend J.A. Mattei from his highly light polluted site in Sao Paulo-Brazil.

I think will have to capture at least twice the current amount of data to get rid of the majority of the background noise.

I should say that this area of the sky is like a treasure , but to get there a lot of work should be placed.

UPDATE:

This new version has 8 hours more of worth data being 6 hours in RGB, 8x900sec bin 2x2 for each channel plus 2 hours of luminance, 6x1200 sec bin 1x1.

The dark nebulae stan out pretty well in this new version and the noise was better. I also used a different workflow in Pixinsight given this data is very weak for some kind of enhancement tools in PI.

The new composition between narrow band and wide band data has been changed and the new blend coefficients are presented below:

Luminance=(30%*Ha+70%*L) and Red=(30%Ha*70%*Red).

Green=(20%*O3+80%*green) and Blue=(40%*O3+60%blue)

Thanks for looking.
