Description

M81
Messier 81 is a grand design spiral galaxy about 12 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
Discovered by the German astronomer Johann Elert Bode in 1774, M81 is one of the brightest galaxies in the night sky.

4/1/23
I imaged M81 over two nights.
The first night had good seeing with good results.
The second night had so-so seeing with fair results. I had to stop early because of degrading conditions.
I need more integration time but the weather is not looking good for the coming week so I decided to go with what I have.
When the atmospheric conditions improve I will add a few more hours to this image.

4/2/23 - Version 'C'
I added more subs and re-processed.
There was a fair amount of wind but my guiding was good for some reason.

4/2/23 - Version 'D'
I reduced the background haze and reduced the green tint.
