Description

The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, are one of the most iconic and beloved star clusters in the night sky. They are located in the constellation Taurus, approximately 440 light-years from Earth. This open star cluster consists of seven primary stars that are visible to the naked eye, although there are many other fainter stars within it.In ancient Greece, the Pleiades were closely tied to mythology. They were the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione, and it is said that Zeus transformed them into stars to protect them from the pursuit of Orion, the stellar hunter. Despite Orion chasing them across the sky, the Pleiades always eluded him, and this constellation rises in the sky at a different time from the Pleiades, so he could never reach them.In the darkness of the night, the Pleiades emerge as a constellation of seven bright pearls. As Greek mythology tells us, they appear as the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione, whom Zeus transformed into stars to protect them from the threat of Orion the hunter. Orion constantly pursues them across the sky, but the Pleiades always escape his grasp, creating an eternal celestial dance. The Pleiades are like seven guardian angels dancing in the firmament, a symbol of strength, protection, and familial unity. They enchant our gaze with their light, as if offering us the wisdom and protection of the gods of Olympus. Each star in the Pleiades tells an ancient and magical story, and their brilliance reminds us of the deep connection between the heavens and the earth in Greek mythology. As we gaze upon the Pleiades, we draw closer to a world of legends and mysteries, passed down from generation to generation like a precious treasure.
