Description

This picture shows central part of the Moon in the 1st quarter as at 10 Nov 2013 at 21:28. Strong and long shadows make crater terrains clearly visible.
In the bottom left corner part of Arzachel Crater, diameter 96 km
above of it: Alphonsus Crater, diameter 108 km
above of it: Ptolemaeus Crater, diameter 164 km (largest crater on the photo)
next to the right: Albategnius, diameter 108 km
above of it: Hipparchus, diameter 138 km
Then some 15 - 20 deep craters in a range of diameters from 10 to 45 kms
In the middle top part there is Mare Vaporum (Sea of Vapors), diameter 245 km, below of it Sinus Medii (Bay of the center), diameter 335, which is joint with Mare Vaporum through terain Rima Hyginus, diameter 219 km.
On the very right there is approx. 65% of the large Mare Tranquillitatis with diameter 873km and on the top right corner small part of Mare Serenitatis (total diameter 707 km).
