Description

Visiting the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association's SE AZ Dark Site on 4/13/13, I had my first opportunity of the year to view and image the Scorpius portion of the Summer MilkyWay as it came up in the wee morning hours. This image of the Antares / Rho Ophiuchus area includes the nebulous regions of heavy Interstellar Gas Cloud as well as a couple of Globular Clusters (M4, NGC6144).

The image is a DSS stack of 53 short 60sec exposures from my Canon 60D and a 1970s Nikon 180mm f/2.8 Lens.

Scope: Nikon Nikkor-P 180mm F/2.8 AI Lens

Mount: CG5

Guide: None

Camera: Canon 60D

Capture: Magic Lantern Intervalometer

Process: DSS, ACDSeePro6
